Tomahawk Aquatic
Center Top 10 Rules:

Parents or guardians
are responsible for supervising their children. Lifeguards are
on duty to enforce rules and respond in an emergency.

Children under the
age of 12 years old will not be admitted into the pool unless
accompanied by an adult.

All children who are
not toilet trained shall wear a swim diaper, tightly fitting
plastic pants and a swim suit. Diapers and plastic pants are
available for purchase at the pool.

Tomahawk Aquatic
Center is a shallow water pool. Therefore, no diving is allowed.

Food or drink may not
be brought into the facility. A concession stand is available
for your convenience. Guests may also bring their own food and
picnic in Central Park adjacent to the Aquatic Center.

Flotation devices
may not be used in the pool. Exceptions include toddler swim
suits with flotation sewn in the suit and Coast Guard approved
life jackets. Toddlers must remain in the arms of parents. Also,
participants needing flotation due to disability may utilize a
manager approved flotation device.

Strollers are allowed
inside of the aquatic center but must remain stationary and
parked by the zero depth chairs.

Waterslide users must
be 42" tall and able to swim to the end of the splash pool
unassisted in order to ride the slide.

Tomahawk Aquatic
Center is a non-smoking facility. Swim suits only will be
allowed in the pool. No street clothes including, leotards,
colored t-shirts or cut-offs.

The Park District
Will Not Be Held Responsible for Loss or Theft of Any Personal
Belongings.

Pool Closing Policies:
Inclement Weather – When the weather falls below
70 degrees or when storms threaten safety.
Swimming is prohibited when lightening is present; including a 30-
minute period after the last lightening is sighted. If the pool is
closed
due to rain and the weather clears by 2:30pm, we will attempt to
re-open the pool by 3:00pm. Otherwise the pool will remain closed
until the next open swim time. Swim Lessons will still be held.
Low Attendance – When there is less than
20 people at the pool.
Safety Hazards – When a situation arises
that would jeopardize the public health of those in attendance.
The pool manager has the authority to make the decision to close the
pool for any of the above reasons. Please call 815-467-SWIM to
confirm the daily schedule.
Rain checks will be issued to those participants paying daily
admission into the Tomahawk Aquatic Center and who are rained out
within the first hour of their visit. These rain checks will only be
issued from the Tomahawk Aquatic Center and only on the day of the
closing.
