The primary goal of the Kids Connection preschool program is to provide children with a stimulating environment in which they can develop. The program will provide varied experiences that will promote development in all areas: Social, Emotional, Intellectual and Motor. The staff will strive to give each child a positive feeling of self-worth and value each child’s uniqueness. The facilities and planned activities are designed to provide an environment in which each child can freely express themselves and develop their potential. Frequently Asked Questions for Preschool 2021-2022
Does my child have to wear a mask?
Yes, the CDC recommends that masks be worn indoors by all individuals (age 2 and older) who are not fully vaccinated. Throughout the year we will be following guidelines outlined by the CDC and IDPH of the Restore Illinois Plan.
What should my child bring?
A backpack with their name on it, a non-spillable water bottle that is labeled, an extra clean mask and a change of clothes in a Ziploc bag according to the season. Please make sure all your child’s items are labeled. We ask that children come to class in closed toe shoes.
What is the sick policy?
Students need to be 2 days (48 hours) symptom free before returning to class. Day 1 begins after the last day they felt ill.
What is the drop off procedure?
Parents will not come into the classroom. Teachers will check your child in at the classroom door when you arrive and check your child out at the classroom door when you pick up. Please have an ID ready to show at Pick-Up for the first couple of weeks to help us get to know who is picking up what child. Anyone picking up your child must be on the Emergency Form and show an ID. We ask that you do not congregate in the hallways and use the appropriate doors to enter & exit. Reference map & Preschool Drop Off sheet.
What are your cleaning procedures?
Teachers will be disinfecting high touchpoints throughout the day. Toys are sanitized each day and classrooms will be cleaned daily. Children will be given their own labeled pencil box that will contain their own supplies. Any shared supplies will be sanitized between use.
What will the hand washing procedure be?
Children will wash/sanitize their hands between each activity. We ask that you take your child to the bathroom/wash their hands before the start of class.
What will happen if there is a positive COVID case?
The programs participants will be notified via email. In the event a positive case arises, individual classes will receive further information if your child’s class was impacted. The health and safety of your child is our priority.
