Student Job Fair (Free) - February 18

High School Sophomore – College Senior
Will you be looking for a job this summer? Did you know that the Channahon Park District hires a majority of our summer staff starting in February? Are you outgoing and enjoy working with kids? Then stop by Arrowhead Community Center for the Student Job Fair! This will be a great opportunity for both high school and college students to find out more information about available part time positions and to apply for summer jobs at the Channahon Park District and other local businesses in the area. We recommend bringing a resume to the event!

Candy Bar Bingo - March 7

It’s a Thursday night and there is no school tomorrow! Come out to Skateland and take part in our annual Candy Bar Bingo. We will play 10 rounds of bingo and open the concession stand for you to purchase pizza, drinks and other snacks. Pre-registration is highly recommended, but if you can’t make it in before, you can register the day of.

Flashlight Egg Hunt - April 12

Grades 5th-8th
Bring your flashlights because we have hidden 5 golden eggs along with a thousand other eggs that are yours for the finding! If you find a golden egg redeem your egg for 1 of 5 OUTSTANDING SECRET prizes! Bring your own flashlight and bag to collect eggs!

Dog Gone Easter Egg Hunt (Free) - April 13

Easter egg hunts aren’t just for kids! Bring your dog to the annual egg hunt. There will be plenty of plastic eggs stuffed with dog treats that your canine can chow down on. All dogs must be leashed at all time and remember to pick up after your dog. Please no aggressive dogs. Owners will need to be present to help guide and gather eggs for their canine!

Hoppin' Holiday Egg Scramble (Free) - April 13

Grab your basket and head over to Central Park for the annual Easter Egg Scramble. There will be thousands of eggs that will be filled with goodies and we need you to come pick them up. Please arrive by 10:15 AM; the egg hunt will begin promptly at 10:30 AM. The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures throughout the morning, so don’t forget your cameras!

Spring Fling Scramble - April 14

Come join us for the 2019 Spring Fling Scramble! This is a 4 person scramble event which will be open to the first 30 teams that register. Included in the $55 per person fee is golf, cart, range balls, bowl of chili, and a pitcher of frosty beverages per team. There will also be 4 closest to the pin prizes and an optional skins game. Shotgun start at 8:30 am. This event is on the Sunday of The Masters. There will be food and drink specials that day for anyone who wishes to stay and watch the culmination of American Golf’s grandest stage. Call the golf shop to reserve your foursome at 815-467-7888.

Spring Clean up on the I&M Canal Trail (Free) - April 18-20

All Ages Welcome
Celebrate Earth Day by participating in the I&M Canal Trail spring clean up! We are looking for groups to spend one day to help keep your I&M Canal Trail beautiful. Before the trees, plants and flowers bloom; before the hikers and bikers take to the path; we need your help to clean it up. Join in the fun as volunteer groups come together to beautify the canal. This is a great opportunity for scout groups, social organizations, churches and for you to give back to the community. Grab your family and friends and head out to the trail and be part of a great day. All groups will be assigned a section of the I&M Canal. Sections could be .5 – 1 mile in length. Garbage bags and gloves will be provided. For more information contact our staff at 815-521-3103. Planned in cooperation with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources who own, manage and maintain the I & M Canal.

Flea Market for Kids - May 4

Grades 1st-8th
Kids – It’s time to clean out those closets and get ready to earn some extra cash at the annual indoor Flea Market for Kids. This is the perfect opportunity to sell your unwanted toys, clothes, sporting goods, books, electronics – anything designed for kids. Bring your own table(s) and a chair. Preregistration is required. THE SALE IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

May Scramble at Heritage Bluffs - May 11

Come out and enjoy the spring weather in this 4-person scramble format. There will be contests for closest to the pins, long drives and an optional skins game. The cost is $70 per person including lunch at the turn and prize money. Tee times will begin at 10:00 am. This will be event #2 in our season long scramble calendar the weather will be great! Grab some friends and call the golf shop 815-467-7888 to make your reservation.

Plant Our Community Garden (Free) - May 21
Enjoy a free hot dog lunch after planting

Whether you have a green thumb or not, we need you! Come out May 21 at 12:00pm to help us plant our Community Garden. Our Community Garden began in 2017 with a partnership between Channahon Schools and the U of I Extension. Typical items in our garden are tomatoes, bell peppers, pickling cucumbers, onions, herbs and more! Spend a nice spring day helping to plant and then enjoy a hot dog lunch. The Community Garden is open all Spring, Summer and Fall for you to work in and pick the vegetables.

Nerf Wars – Capture the Flag! - January 21

Ages 5-12 (age as of January 1, 2019)
Bring out a group of friends and get ready to battle! Teams of 5 are encouraged to have creative battle gear in the quest for ultimate pride. Teams must be ready to start on time for their age bracket to go over safety rules of the tournament. Each match will be played to 5 points! Teams must bring their own nerf gun and ammo. One gun may be used per point! No automatic guns will be allowed! Safety glasses will be provided. Please register early because space is limited!
